About Lorraine Groves

I have been practising as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist since 2016. I am passionate about what I do and really look forward to meeting you to discuss how I can help you lead a healthy, happy life.

My original career was not in therapy however and I arrived at it somewhat later in life. This gives me significant life experience and I beleive this enhances my abilities as a therapist.  Following a career as a business consultant and trainer, I decided on a career change in 2009, in order to achieve a long held goal to become a therapist.

After my graduation from Oxford Brookes University in 2015 with an Honours Degree in Psychology, I wanted to further develop my knowledge of the latest therapeutic techniques and having developed a fascination with the benefits of hypnotherapy during my course I decided to focus on this.

Having carried out extensive research on the numerous training providers of hypnotherapy (for what is still an unregulated industry), I chose the London College for Clinical Hypnosis (LCCH). They have successfully trained countless of Clinical Hypnotherapists since 1984, plus they follow strict ethical guidelines as set out by the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, of which I am a member.

After successfully passing the first stage of this rigorous training programme in 2016, enabling me to practice as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I set up my clinic in January 2017 while at the same time continuing my research and studies. I have recently successfully completed my MSc in Clinical Hypnotherapy with a distinction and I am delighted to be one of the final groups of students to do so as this qualification is now no longer available.
